The Calanca Valley is a side valley of the Mesolcina and is located in the Italian-speaking area of the Canton of Grisons. The five municipalities of Castaneda, Sta. Maria i. C., Buseno, Calanca and Rossa have about 800 inhabitants. Besides the unique natural stone, meat products such as prosciutto, trout from the fish farm in Augio and carne secca are among the valley’s specialties.
